Dry Garden – Japanese Style
The presence of hard elements (hardscape) such as rocks and gravel trail that is quite dominant in the garden, like a dry garden which further highlight the rocks to fill the park. Then in the presence of plant elements, such as shrimp pine, ferns and palms, then this park is also called as a Japanese garden. In addition to these three types of plants, another hallmark of the Japanese garden is to use rare-leaved plants such as bamboo.
Although referred to as a Japanese-style dry garden, this garden does not look dry. This is due to presented by several types of plants such as soft-shelled flowers (ixora), lilies paris beautiful leafy plants (Chlorophytum), and Duranta. All plants were planted on small hills that look interesting and artistic.
The use of plant elements, such as Cycas which further highlight the harsh elements of rock, is a hallmark of Japanese-style dry garden. Advantages of use leaved plants rarely is minimal maintenance. In addition, plant species are also very efficient in water use, making it more resistant to drought compared to flowering plants.
