Baby Room – Choosing colors, safety factor and hygienic aspects

Posted on by on July 22nd, 2011 | 7 Comments »

Baby is identical to smoothness. During the period of 0 to 3 months old his eyes still need an adaptation to recognize the contrast of primary colors. Hence, it is more suitable to use smooth colors in his room, such as pink, yellow, blue and light green.

The masculine blue is commonly used to color a boy’s room whereas the feminine pink is for the girl’s room. Besides choices of colour, the placement of furniture such as baby box, baby tafel and drawer will also determine comfort of the room. Too close to the window is not suitable because the air will directly flow to the bedroom where the baby is sleeping. The baby tafel  and drawer must be located nearby the bathroom to ease the mother in bathing the baby as well as changing his outfit.

Another important factor is safety. Parent’s safety is incomparable to the baby’s. For example, the safe gap of grill for adults is too wide for the baby because he may put his head inside. On the other hand, a narrow gap may also a dangerous one to the baby because his fingers may be trapped inside. Hence, the ideal gap is between 6 to 7 centimetres.

Baby Room

Furniture must use furnish materials that do not contain poisonous ingredients and it must also have a locking system that is operated by the parents.

Similiar attention must also be given to hygienic aspects. Baby’s room floor must be made from materials that are easy to clean, such as ceramics and natural stones because they do not keep the dust.

Fulfilling the previous principles will give us more flexibility to decorate our babies room. It is then an enjoyable one.
